PHA
SiPHÀ - Sustainable, Innovative, PHA - is an innovative startup operating in the sector of biopolymers production, more specifically, polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA). The main objective of SiPHÀ is the production of polyhydroxyalkanoates with mixed microbial cultures on a large scale, through a revolutionary technology, which provides, for the first time in the production of PHA, a fully continuous process line.
TOWARDS INDUSTRIAL SCALE
SIPHA is actively involved in competitive European funding programmes under the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) .
The company is currently a partner in two European-funded projects , selected from among the initiatives supporting the development of bio-based solutions in Italy.
These projects support the scale-up process of the SIPHA technology, from research to industrial validation, including the development of a pilot plant planned to start in September 2026 as part of the PHACTUS project, in collaboration with ACEA AMBIENTE.
